Twelve members of the NWTA shook off cabin fever and participated in a Valley Forge encampment held on Feb. 17 at the Byron Forest Preserve in Byron, Illinois. Inspector of Music Terry Wellman and the NWTA field music practiced inside the nature center while members of the 6th Virginia, Bowman's Company, and the 2nd Pennsylvania Regiment demonstrated cooking, musket shooting, and Baron von Steuben's drill outdoors. The forest preserve provided authentic bulk food stuffs and a powder ration. The event drew approximately 500 spectators on a 31° day.
