Guest Participation

WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO COME AND
VISIT US FOR A WEEKEND!!

What does it mean to "Be a Guest"

A
. An individual may participate as a guest of a member unit as long as the guest has not been a member of the NWTA within the past two years. No one may participate with the NWTA at more than two (2) events unless he or she becomes a member.

B.
No one who has been a member of the NWTA within the past two years may attend an event as a guest. (NWTA bylaws)

So.. Who do I talk to? You need to contact one of the sponsors listed below. They will then provide you with information and a schedule of events so you may choose a date to attend one of the events.

What do I do? Prior to the event, the unit that you will stay with for the weekend will contact you to make suitable arrangements for clothing, food, and shelter. Then, all you need to do is get to the event site (you will receive instructions) and get to know us.

What if this hobby isn't for me? After spending the weekend if you decide that this is not something that interests you that will be fine. You are under no obligation to continue. We know that you will drive away with memories that will last your life-time.

I loved this!!! How do I join? If you determine that you want to proceed with the hobby you would then pay your membership dues and participate as a member of the Loyal Irish Volunteers(LIV) while you begin the task of finding an NWTA unit which you are best compatible with.

How do I figure out which NWTA unit is best for me? Each of the NWTA units is an organization unto itself. It is important to investigate which historical unit each group portrays to be sure that it agrees with your interests. It is also important to check out the "personality" of each unit. Some are very family oriented with many women and children members, while others may have a membership of younger participants that may not have spouses or children. It is suggested that while you are an LIV you should contact the Commanders of units that you are interested joining and spend an event weekend with them to see if you both fit well. If a membership agreement is made between you and one of your guest units, then the unit Commander would have your membership transferred to his or her unit. The NWTA Field Guide will give you a very good overview of the historical significance of each unit and provide you with contact information.
