This rev. war helmet was owned and worn by Robert Moore of the 3rd New York regiment, between 1777-1783. The helmet has the original cockade and plumage. I have infra red pictures of the helmet and in the front of the visor you can see "L3".Robert Moore must have been a colorful character as one day he was a drummer and the next day he was a private. The papers show that he tried to break down Capt. Swartouts door and for that he must have been court marshaled. This hat has been appraised quite high and was on ebay several months ago and only made it to $8,800.00. Please only the serious collectors bid on this fine rarity. Any further questions feel free to email me. If you have to many negative feedback comments, please do not bid on this item... This will also be the last time on e-Bay. Happy bidding..
