Details:
Having tantalized the Peoria area last year with a visit from the Northwest Territory Alliance, the Creve Coeur Club of Peoria would like to invite the organization back this year. A two-day event will be on tap. The first day will be for Club members only and serve as the Club’s major fund-raising event for the year. The second day will be open to the public. In an effort to interact with the area schools, an effort will be made to incorporate a work sheet for all grade levels that hopefully can provide extra credit in their classroom. Admission that day will be per car load.
Venue:
Weaver Angus Farms is located in Peoria, Illinois, a city built along a bend in the Illinois River that traces its settlement to the French Fort Crevecoeur in 1680. This lovely facility will provide all necessary amenities and has secured the required permits to allow a full-scale reenactment. For more information, visit www.weaverangusfarms.com.
Event:
The Creve Coeur Club hopes to provide a full-spectrum event, including a battle scene. Members and their guests will be provided food and drink while enjoying the reenactment. This affair is replacing the club’s annual George Washington Banquet, the longest-running event of its kind in the United States. The club has re-imagined how we can honor our first president’s legacy and hopes this event will generate interest in more experiences of this nature in the area.
